Welcome to the Certificated Sites Website. The aim of this web site is to eventually list all the Camping and Caravanning Club's Certificated Sites, together with photos, facilities, places of interest, and location maps for each site. At present only basic information is provided. We are not affiliated to The Camping and Caravanning Club in any way (apart from being ordinary members), but just felt there was a need for such a web site.

We are keen motor caravanners, and are members of the Camping and Caravanning Club. At present there is little information on the internet about Certificated Sites, so we thought we would correct the situation. So here it is, the only web site (as far as we know) that is dedicated entirely to Certificated Sites.

So what exactly is a Certificated Site?
The Camping and Caravanning Club is permitted to issue land owners and occupiers (in most areas) a Certificate to operate a touring caravan site for recreational purposes, without the need for planning permission.

Such a site, known as a Certificated Site (CS) or 5 van sites, can accept up to five caravans or motorhomes, plus as many tents as the area allows. Many also accept trailer tents and folding campers.

Certificated Sites are exclusive to Camping and Caravanning Club members - and each CS represents just one more reason to be part of the Friendly Club. For details of joining the Camping and Caravanning Club visit their web site at www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk

Certificated Sites often provide only minimal facilities - representing the ideal way to really get away from it all and enjoy your camping. Many will simply have a fresh water point and somewhere for waste disposal. Others offer toilets, showers, electric hook-ups and more. Some have even more specialised facilities - such as a pub next door, a fishing lake, or even a paddock for your horse. Many are on working farms - and there is even one that boasts its own museum. With over 1,200 CSs to choose from, there is something for everyone.

Many Certificated Sites on these pages are prefixed by a prominent "H" in red - for Hideaway - to indicate they are particularly quiet or secluded.

All Certificated Sites are inspected every year by Site Assessment Officers, who are also Camping and Caravanning Club members. In the words of one of the Assessment Officers: "A Certificated Site doesn't have to be all-singing and all-dancing. It just needs to be a small site we would want to recommend to our friends". This to us epitomises what Certificated Sites are all about!

These small touring parks and camping sites offer excellent value for money, so browse through this web site and start planning your next getaway.

Please Note: This web site is in its infancy, and you will appreciate that it is a big task to list all 1200 plus Certificated Sites together with their details. So not all sites are listed at the moment, but bear with us, we hope to get there eventually.

All the information on this web site is provided in good faith but we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. We advise you to check with the site owners to confirm details before making a booking.
